Are you sure this inmate is telling the truth ? I know you said she worried did she call you?the reason I ask is I've never heard of them taking someone out of hole for visit it might happen but I've never heard of them doing that.

I know hear they can but they are non contact visits.
did she call you her self? Yes prisoners can bs with the best of them so be careful with what another prisoner has told you.
maybe ask someone else at the prison about it? Someone who deals with the visit side of things.

You got a call from another inmate? What's up with that? You might want to think about how many of those inmates have your personal information. Yikes.

My guy gives my number to a couple guys he trusts in case something happens, so I know and don't worry why he isn't calling. Here, they do get visits, but non contact.

I got a call awhile ago from a guy to tell me my fiance was sick so was missing class and had to take a " lay in", which meant confined to his room all day. So I was upset he couldn't talk to me, but at least I knew what was going on.

I would call the prison and ask if she is able to have visits because you heard she had, and that someone there told you not to come. These people working in the prisons are sometimes dumb, and sometimes just cruel. My guy said the guards hate visits. WHY??? The ones assigned to the visiting check in have it so easy. they simply do the metal detector, look you up, and let you in. The ones in the visiting room basically all stand around and bs to each other. And open the door for the guys and for us. What a HARD job!!! I wish mine was that easy and I got paid what they do.

That is just terrible Brenda. I can imagine how worried and disappointed you and your mom must have felt. Your daughter may have told the other inmate to phone you because she was worried about you as well. After this story I am going to tell my daughter to give another inmate my number. Do you know why or how long they plan to hold her in the hole? In the federal the hole is referred to as the SHU which stands for segregated housing unit.

I think the guards hate visits because it is loud and they have extra people to watch. Too bad they should get another job if they can't deal with it.

My husband is in federal prison so things might be a little different, I have seen guys who are in the whole get visits. They do wear orange jumpsuits and have to sit in a special area in the visiting room.
As for the phone call, my husband will give my # to another prisoner, one who he can trust and then that guy gives it to his wife or girlfriend so when something happens ( it could be anything) that guy has his girl call me to let me know what's going on. He can't call himself because all prisoners have to have a list of people they can call.
I know it is hard to trust inmates but it's always good to have one so they can have info sent to you.
It does suck that you missed a visit. If this ever happens again I would double check with a supervisor.

I hope everything's really okay, and that future visits won't be a problem. Personally, I don't want any other inmates to know how to contact me. If my guy goes to the SHU, he's allowed one telephone call and all the letter-writing he wants to do. I believe that if there's something seriously wrong, I'll get the word.

I did call the visitation desk and they said that she is allowed a visit but it is behind glass instead of in the visiting hall. So here is what happened. They took her to the visiting hall for our visit. But we did show up because we were told she didnt get a visit. They took her to the visiting hall without her being called. They are not suppose to take her unless she is called. They call when visitors show up. Ok so she had no idea what happened to us. They took her back to her cell. I called the visiting desk and made an appointment for the next day. Just me and my husband because while in the hole she can only have 2 visitors. On the way there I realized I forgot my ID. So I didnt get to see her but my husband did. whew so now she knows we are a live and what happened. I emailed for another visit for me and my mom for next week. So her story is different that the managers. She said her and a big group of other girls are underestimation for buying and selling suboxone. And that they didnt do a urine test. So how could they find it in her system? grrr I dont know who to believe. She hasnt always been truthful with me. but neither is the manager. the system stinks
