It depends on where you live how they are. It seems that you can't get one if you are a felon. BUT some prisons will send them home with a list of felon friendly business to apply at. Minnesota and Wisconsin send them out with a slip to give employers that state if they hire them, that the state gets a ten thousand dollar tax credit. We also have temp services that help felons get jobs. They have companies that hire them all of the time. Mine is a felon, and pretty much has had a job within a week or two after he is out.

I help him contact them before his release date, so they know he is looking. That helps. He is getting out in August and he himself just wrote to the lady at the temp service to get the ball rolling.

It isn't as bleak as it seems.

Not bad at all. One job was pretty high wages for this area. FIVE years ago he was making 17 an hour making the refrigeration insides of trucks such as the ones that sell ice cream, and meats, etc. A big company.

It would depend on his qualifications. It could be more, or less. And the area you live in, what their pay scales are.

I hope that some of what I previously told you made you feel better. It's not as bleak as you think. I now work at a factory, and in the few days since I started have talked to several guys that have served time in jail or prison, and they are working.
