Oh my dear, I do remember those times mine didn't call either. You imagine everything. And then when they finally call, there was a good reason, like locked down unit, or phones down, or many different, explainable reasons. Problem is, when these things happen, they may not be able to tell us. They have no way to. My guy used to say, " Don't you think it drives me crazy too? Calls are what hold me together , so don't ever think it's because I don't want to." He also had it set up with someone he trusted to call me if he got sick, or got hurt, or put in the hole, so that I would know. If your guy can do that, it will help. Then you will know if no one calls, it just isn't possible for him to call. No other reason.

I do remember the worry and the pacing, and the doomed feelings I felt. It is awful. But ya have to start controlling your emotions, and try to think clearly. Don't keep calling the prison, or they will get mad, and when you really need to call, say, for an emergency, they won't take you seriously. The guards have tons of people calling them, and frankly, most of them are lazy and us calling irritates them more, and they can take it out on the guys.

He sent me a letter and it said on sunday that he was not sure he was going to call because he had a letter to get out to his parents. I understand that, I'm not going to be selfish... but couldn't he do that when its not a time to call out to me! Its so frustrating. He hates that our calls are recorded. I get that but he knows how those calls make it easier for me. He knows I need to hear his voice to get through this. Yes, I think that he wants to call me but I know how deep he falls into himself. He doesn't associate with the other guys. He keeps to himself. reading and writing me are his past times... I just want him to call me so I know he is ok. I freak out every time that he goes days without calling me.. I am back to tears of course and fretful ideas of what could be going on... I haven't paced yet but crying is a big thing for me today. tomorrow is halloween and I just can't participate... its a holiday he loves.. so sad... I haven't called the jail. I don't want them getting mad.. and I don't want it taken out on my man...

they will not tell him to call you when my husband was sent to another state he had called me but wouldn't go through for some reason (week or 2 of not hearing from him ) so called the prison and the lady (God bless her) said we can't normally do this but she did tell him to call back she did say it might be a while because was one phone not sure how many inmates and at that point we could only talk 2 or 3 times a week. I can't remember

(this is where your guy going to want to find a friend) likewisonsin said we do the same thing my husband has a friend if something happens to him he will call and vice-versa and I will let his family know

I just learned the facility is on lockdown. Not sure how long its been. Now at least I know that he's ok but I want to talk to him so badly. Writing him another letter...but I was told he isn't going to get commissary with the lockdown in place... so frustrating! I know he was running low on paper last time we wrote each other...
