The prisons in america seem a hell of a lot different then in the uk. My partner is in a private run jail so their phone is in their cell, he can fone anytime day or night so guess I'm lucky compared to other women.

I hope u hear from him. I remember waiting by the pho e every night to hear from our son. If you don't, I wish for you to have a peace in your heart that all is well and know that God is in control. Give your burdens to Him. He will carry you through this very difficult time.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I did get my Christmas call from hub, which was the best gift I could get that day. It helped us both to get to talk to each other, and kids got to say hi, that they love & miss him.
Our visit this weekend was also good. We have been thanking God for having good weather, and them not on lockdown (unusual for this time of year).

When they are in prison, you have to learn to lessen the importance of how Christmas and other holidays used to be. You make new ways to celebrate. Calls are the gift they can give us, so they are special.
We used to on New Years Eve watch the Dick Clark New Years Eve special. Him in prison, me at home, and watch the ball drop " together", then talk about it on the next call. So we felt we were experiencing the same thing at the same time. Or we would look out the windows, if he could and watch the stars at a certain time of night and silently say Good night Sweetheart. It is kinda silly but whatever works, you do it. I am glad you all got your calls.

ihatewisconsin, that does not sound one bit silly to me! That's love. We share it however we can. I say "Good night, Adam, I love you," every night before I go to sleep, and he says good night and he loves me too. It does mean something, and it does send love out into the world, to one another. I like thinking about all of us sending love all over the place to one another.
