My fianc is a sexual offender in WI. He is 34 years old and was charged in 1996 with 3 counts 2nd degree sexual assault of a child and 1 count was dismissed. He pleaded guilty/no contest to 2 counts. He served 10 years in prison. When he was released he was not on parole/probation. In 2006, he pleaded guilty to 2nd degree reckless endangerment of safety and Felon Possess Firearm and received 3 1/2 years probation. Over the 3 years he had multiple probation violations of braking curfew, driving without a license, being in a bar, making a verbal threat, etc. (I didnt say he was smart, lol). However, no new charges and he was revocated. He got 3 1/2 years in prison and 5 years extended supervision for being revocated. He is due to be released Oct 4, 2011. He was informed that he will be on lifetime GPS. Even thou he was not sent back for a sex offense they say it doesnt matter because he went back and is they consider him "sexual violent" because he has 2-2nd degree offenses in the past. When he pleaded guilty to these crimes there wasnt gps. He might not have pleaded guilty if he knew there was possibility of lifetime gps. This seems like double jeopardy or unconstitutional to me. Any advice or input is appreciated. I have no law background. But, I am educated and this seems wrong and unfair to me. I know life isnt fair!
We are also from Wisconsin as you can tell, originally from MN, and Wisconsin seems to be the most corrupt, sick justice system there is. They make up laws and statutes to cover their own asses because people figure out they are going against their own laws.
I feel bad for you. Good luck... My advice, when he gets out, get the hell out of Wisconsin.
Mine was told once on probation or parole here, they will get you back in over and over again. Usually right before your probation is up. And they did to mine. They set you up, they get you on some new trumped up charges. Leave Wisconsin as soon as you can, we are.
