HI. I am back on the site again to get answers. It has literally been 4 years since I have been on this site. I have finally admitted to myself that I am a lesbian. I guess that came with age. Long story short, my mom and I finally had the talk. We had bee skirting around the topic for years, She is Christian (as am I) and she believes that morally it is wrong to be homosexual and that this "lifestyle" will cause harm to not only myself but my future children.
I had a few questions:
1.) What is everyone's opinion on lesbians (or any one who is homosexual) going to hell?
2.) If you have children, have your children resented you at any point for being homosexual (ie not having a "traditional relationship"?
3.) If you are married or have been in a long term relationship, how have people treated you?
4.) Has it been difficult finding employment and being gay?
I ask all of these questions because my mom believes that my children will resent me, I will be unemployed, and that I will not meet her in heaven. I am only 21 and truly want this. I have found someone I am in love with. We have been dating for like 3 1/2 years now. I am happy but I rather not go to hell or make my children hate me. I am a lesbian and that will NEVER ever change. I just some answers and help processing all of this.

I can only answer your question from the pov of a straight father, so take this forward it's worth. I grew up with some of that traditional view, but when my son came out, it put my views in conflict with reality.
I began to question the teachings about hell. This was not a quick process, but it was an important one. The eventual conclusion for me was this: I don't know. That said, I was sure of one thing - I love my son. The only time we have for certain is our time here on earth, and I refuse to squander that time pondering the afterlife. That's God's domain. Hopefully your mom will come to a similar place on her own. Be patient with her until she does.
