Hello everyone,
I am here looking for advice, support, and encouragement. I married my wonderful husband 2 1/2 years ago, and I knew from the get go that he was bisexual (we had been friends 10 years before we got married). After the wedding (don't remember how long exactly) he brought up that he hated his body and the he felt trapped. I didn't know exactly what he meant until later when he told me that he was transgender, and that when he gets out of the Army that he wants to start the transition process to become a woman. I was, and still am, shocked by all of this. I kinda put it in the back of my mind for a while because his spells when he felt like that were pretty far apart, but then we got pregnant and it seamed to make the episodes more frequent. Of course, with all the extra hormones running through my body, it was really hard for me to deal with, and there were other events that didn't help the matter either (him being deployed, me rolling my truck while pregnant, complications during pregnancy, having an emergency c-section, and having a premature baby). Now he is telling me that he doesn't want to wait to get out of the military before he starts transitioning, and I am not handling it well. I am doing my best to support him because I love him, always have and always will, but I want our kids to have a mommy and a daddy not 2 mommies. I told him that I don't want to divorce him, but I am going to have to do what is best for the kids because they come first. I am just so emotional right now because of the hormones and fighting off postpartum depression, but I don't know how much more I can take. Sorry this is so long, but any advice and/or support would be appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your situation. I don't have any advice since my husband just told me three days ago that he is transgender. We have been married for two and a half years. I am confused and scared. He is sure he wants to live his life as a woman and I am not sure I can live with it. You are not alone. Now, we just need to figure out what to do...
I really hope someone with experience in this sees this thread. I am also in a similar position. My fiancee and I have been together for 8 years, have 2 kids, age 7 yrs and 1 month.
I have known for many years that he was 'bisexual' he has had encounters with men for years (with my okay)
Just today he got hormone supplements in the mail. Breast enlargement, and estrogen pills.
It wasn't until today that I realized this is the road he wanted to take. And unfortunately I am not okay with it. I love him more than anything, but I am not bisexual or lesbian, and cannot be with a woman. I love his manliness, and I don't feel like I will be attracted to him if he physically changes. Not sure what to do next....
