Yesterday morning I had a strange situation happen. Around 6 a.m. I woke up and preceded to do my daily morning ritual of turning off outside lights opening the blinds etc... So as I was doing this I noticed a car parked by the end of my driveway running completely blocking my driveway and I am like who the heck is this ? So I watched for a few minutes thinking maybe it's someone who pulled over to use their cellphone or someone who ran to one of the neighbors for some reason . Long story short I waited and waited for them to leave but they didn't so after like 20 or 25 minutes starting to get really nervous who is this person and more importantly what do they want. By now I'm starting to think of all the bad things it could be maybe someone that is looking for my son in regard to past drug deals etc... Matt and my husband had left at 430 so I was here with just my 2 girls I was worried about their safety of course. I finally work up the nerve to go outside and see what they want . With my house and cell phone in hand I went outside the side door of my house (locked the girls in the house) and went up to this car. I see a guy passed out in the drivers seat which was reclined to a nearly flat position. So I knocked on his window nothing no response at all so I got his plate number went back in the house and called the police. Explained what was going on and they sent 2 cops here. As it turns out it was a guy that lives down the street that was completely out of it on something as soon as the cops opened his car door they prodded him with their batons and he popped up got out of his car which was in gear the whole time the car starts rolling the one cop stops it the other cop grabs him and is like where are you going ? In the end they impounded his car and took him to jail. The reason I'm posting this is because this guy is the last person in the world I would of thought had a problem. He is the top real estate agent in our area with his picture and ads posted everywhere . I often see him walking the neighborhood with his mom and their dogs . Nice guy but had no business being behind the wheel of a car. If course I feel a little bad that I had to call the cops on him but he should not have been driving like that he seriously could of killed someone. So I'm sure it's gonna be awkward next time I run into him but I know I did the right thing. As we have recently been discussing on this board addiction knows no bounds it can affect anyone at anytime. By the way his mom who must be in her late sixths heard what was happening and came down the street begging the police not to arrest him . I wanted to say something to her about enabling but thought it wasn't the right time or place. And. As much as I would never want to see this happen with my son I would hope that someone would do the same thing I did and call the police I would rather see my son get arrested then have to live his life knowing he killed someone or himself.
