Just got home from Christmas shopping with Matt. I haven't seen him in 2 weeks and I missed him. We had such a nice normal time it really has been a long time since that has happened because even though he has been doing so well for awhile I wasn't. I was always on the lookout if you know what I mean . Always trying to see if there were any signs are his eyes normal? Is his speech slurred? Is he too tired? Is he too hyper? You know what I'm saying on guard and looking for the other shoe to drop. So time spent together wS really not that enjoyable. Today was different I just had fun and peace enjoying the time we had together and I'm pretty sure he felt it to. I'm just starting to realize what it means to love my son but not the addict and maybe if I stop expecting the addict to show up he won't. It was really nice and btw he must have thanked me 10 times for lunch and his Christmas gifts. Wow!! I hope you all get to have a day like this with your lived ones very very soon!!
