Hi there, I have not written in forever as my son has been in jail all summer and was not due to get released until August. I had written to him telling him he better be heading to treatment as soon as he was released or we were not going to have anything to do with him. (12 long years of this and we had enough) well he never wrote back so that was his way of letting me know he was not planning on treatment.
Well he was released early and they gave him $175.00 for the work he had done in jail. The first thing he did was check into a hotel and buy some crack. We got a status update on FB from him. He used the hotel computer to text his sister. He found himself asleep under a bridge the next morning next to another homeless person.Broke and sick, begging his sister to help him. He says he is ready for help. He asked us to come and get him on the condition that he was ready for help. We did and as of right now hes in a hospital for the mentally ill. He has severe social anxiety and claims he has been using all these years just to cope with that. He says he finally wants to treat his mental illness so that he can go into a treatment program and really participate. this is the first time he has said all of this. I refuse to get my hopes up but today my son is safe and alive and maybe.....
