and I am sorry, addicts OD, I don't know if I buy that it was over the break up. maybe, maybe not- but that is nothing for your to feel guilty about.
He has a long history of addiction, so he would have to be sober for a year after getting out before I would risk any relationship at all...and certainly not moving in.
Yes, he treated you like a queen, but you paid for it, he stole from you.
I hope he is telling you the truth....but live your life and go on...then see what happens. (all this without knowing how long you were together and how long he is in for.)
And you have to think about the example it sets for the kids. Kids always come first in my book. they don't need the in and out of the house relationship or to be endangered by living with an addict. you are lucky none of his dealers showed up to your house looking for him.
