Saturday night was a very special night at our house. First our daughter Jordan attended her senior prom, cute pictures and all that... but the real
joy was that Justin asked us all to attend his AA meeting where he was going to pick up a 90 day chip. This was the first time he had asked all of the family to attend and his first time recieving this chip. He would have had 6 months except for his slip a while back but still for him to get up in front of everyone and get his 90 day chip was a huge thing. His sister and I thought we were going to break into tears we were so proud. He was so nervous all week about standing up in front of over 100 people and I worried he would not be able to do it but he did. It was a speaker meeting and the speaker was amazing. He was a dad with over 18 years of sobriety and he touched on so many relatetable things for Justin it was truely amazing. They had nothing in common and yet they had everything in common...... We all went out to dinner after and talked about this connection Justin had with this very sucessful older gentleman. They all share such a common thread and it was so inspiring to hear him speak. Justin gave me his chip and said mom this is for you, you earned this with me and I want you to have it..... Priceless.... Just wanted to share our good news hope you are all doing ok and staying positive...

I love those kind of meetings. they are what gave me hope.
I am so happy for you and your son and whole family.
I am sure this will help build his self esteem too. Wow. what a change. He really is stepping up and doing it! HUG!
