i am lucky enough to live within a couple of miles of a wonderful monastery. yes the kind with monks! i have taken advantage of the programs there for several years, days of reflection, labyrinth walks meditation groups, chanting services and drumming circles. to name a few. it is an eccentric and spiritual group of people and i have made good friends there. it is a wholesome and welcoming place.
well.......this week i moved out of our bedroom and established the firmest most severe boundaries on my liar of a (always) relapsed addict. he got the message and returned to AA, but who knows?
this morning he comes downstairs and asks me to take him to church!!!!!!! what? he has never in the 35 years we are together gone into a church if he didn't have to!
i rarely go on sundays but i figure how do i say no?
i am happy to report that neither he, nor i were struck by lightening.

mostly just helped people. As long as you go to learn about God. Did you know that churches of just big groups of addicts called sinners anonymous! people who absolutely couldn't live without God and cannot help themselves. Jesus is our only hope!
