As you know, our son and his gf had a baby on 10/8. He is VERY well. NO withdrawl from the Methadone that she has been on since she found out she was pregnant. They did go from the hospital to her parents house, their apt lease is signed, but due to DCS being involved due to the methadone program, they have to remain there for two weeks.
Sad part to this is that her parents are VERY controlling. They have not been use to 'waking' up to baby cries and these parents are NOT allowing them to get to that point of getting use to 'listening' in their sleep for him crying. They have taken the baby monitor into their room with them(the parents), they are telling the kids they are 'shitty parents' and are talking about adopting the baby themselves from them....AYFKM? I wished I wasn't hours away from them! I'd CERTAINLY be more involved with those 'parents'....smh....
Sadly I have NOT met these 'parents' yet. And at this point, I don't think they would WANT to meet me at this point.
He is sitting them down tonight and talking to them. Please say a prayer for these two kids and this wonderful lil baby.....will the drama ever end? will they ever just live 'normal' lives? Will I EVER have a moment of peace to enjoy life?

I'm happy to hear the baby is doing well, my grandson was also born addicted. He was put on phenobarbital and weaned from that. Today he is a healthy normal 4 year old.
I also know how hard it is living with all the drama. I'm still going through it but I have gotten much stronger in the last 4 years, I hate to say it but I don't know if it will ever end. The difference is I am finally learning to take care of me and my grandson.

the situation sounds sick, and I am sure as soon as they are in their own place, they will do better and better. I am sure you can add encouragement to their life.
