There are a handful of states doing this.

Ohio Indiana Kentucky Massachusetts and Florida.

Facebook has a page called Heroin Awareness that's posts how to do it.

New Jersey as well as the other states that allow this process should be commended. Have you ever known a drug addict or alcoholic that was not a danger to themselves or others ? Sorry but it is just really kind of crazy that the addict has to be deemed a danger I mean isn't that the whole problem about addiction ?? I get it they have rights and yes of course their should be a process to prove their Is a definite problem otherwise people that have no such issues could be swept up in to a program without any type of proof . However I think the process should be swifter because every single second of a delay could potentially cost them their lives. Maybe a program that doesn't rely on the courts but rather the medical field would be quicker and save more lives?? I certainly don't have all the answers I realize it's a very complicated issue but I hope the rest of the states follow suit and realize the absolute catastrophe that most of us on this board live through every single day! Dee I agree. There has to be more done then the process and length of time. At least it's a step in the right direction. And my state has Narcam training. Get certified and carry overdose shots. Imagine living this way.

I know some reading this link will say they have to want help. Very true. There is an expression....you can't lead a horse to water and make him drink...but you can make him thirsty.

All states need to get onboard with this. But it's people on here that make a difference and make their voice be heard.
