He admitted he knows he was slipping, that he's not strong enough to be around them and that it wouldn't just stay at phone conversations if he continued to talk to them. This is nothing he would tell me when we talked before, he would always put up a wall which is why I brought the therapist back. We still have a long ways to go and a lot of trust issues. But he was willing to sit down with her and talk, I gave him the choice whether or not he wanted to participate in the session. It certainly wasn't just about his problems I brought up my own as well. It was helpful to have someone there to make us feel comfortable enough to share our feelings without risking getting into a big fight.
