I think it takes a long time to get past the worrying. I just do the serenity prayer whenever it starts to pop up.
As for the knowing when to help and when to back off? enabling is doing anything for him that he can do for himself. Although, I must say, I still might make a sandwich for my son when I see him, I expect him to do the same for me...no walking on egg shells.
It is great that he is using his meetings. His focus is in the right direction.
I have my son back for 4 years this April 8th. I still am learning and growing as fast as I can. Keep on coming back and sharing your knowlege with us.
