Well my daughter did her usual lying about being at the er and she got admitted for "severe right side pain". Which she has gone to the er for several times. Yesterday I found out she was getting morphine 3 hours. I asked her if the doctor knew she was an addict. She said she told him. Long story short she got discharged today, nothing was wrong
She has been in outpatient rehab for 3 weeks. I got so mad today and said horrible things to her. I wish I could make her hurt as much as she has hurt me
I know know I cannot have any contact vwith her for awhile. It's just toxic
Today has truly been a downer day.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Is it possible to have the hospital indicate on her medical records that she is an addict? Enough visits to the ER and they'll figure this one out.

I understand you wanting her to hurt for a change. It seems that we own their pain as our own. It's hard to not take ownership over their pain, but we must not. They have to own it and feel it in order to get sober.

Yes, it's best to stay away. Take time to breathe.

I wish there was some magic words I could say that would help you. I know how you feel; my son lasted only 6 months after he was paroled out of jail. He started doing drugs (heroin) and now he's gone. He passed away from an overdose. He had never done heroin before 2014. I was very upset with him and truly saw that his end was near. I was very frustrated with him and the pain he caused after I stood by him while he was in jail.
The last time I saw him something told me to just love him while I had him. I am glad that I did because it was a memory I will have of him forever.
Try to live every day like it's your last. Try not to internalize the bad feelings she throws at you. It's not really her; it's the drugs.
