quiet around here too...one son in rehab for a year, one daughter working on skid row in la helping the addicted and homeless and poor, and me still struggling with letting go and wishing they were all little and I could start over with them. never mind. I just put my big girl pants on and I am thankful for where each one of them is now:) let go and let God.....one day at a time... God help me to live ...life in the present. thankful for this group...not too many friends calling me lately.....

I found that some friends don't know what to say, or get tired of hearing our story so they quit associating. As I began to get better I see things differently now. I work on taking care of me, and sometimes that's a big enough project. I'm thankful for where I am today, although my daughter is still using drugs.It's sad that a 32 year old spends all her money the first week of the month, then has to ask me for toilet paper, and personal items. I did get her the toilet paper but I refuse to give her any money whatsover! She gets prescribed meds from the dr and then the rest she buys off the street, and goes the entire month with no money. Thankfully her children are no longer in the home and have to go without anymore. Things have been quiet here as well, lost my friend to cancer the day before Thanksgiving, was shocked, and then got the flu. So enjoying the quiet, decorating the house and being thankful I'm not in the insanity of it all any longer.

Jainlor, UHm not sure I want to start all over, although I do have a 6 year old,,, guess I am ,,, any hoo,, has far has your friends not calling,, that's ok, people have this certain perception of a drug addict, which honestly I did to,, that if they are a drug addict, they come from the wrong side of the tracts, ect,,,, addiction is not prejudic that's for sure, heck some of the best drug addicts, come from good homes,,, my addict prime example , typical suburban family, I was a stay at home mom, not perfect family but we are a good one,,,, so many times our friends don't know what to say,,, which sometimes I'm thankful they don't put in the two cents,, cause unless you walked in my shoes you have no idea what I've been through,,,,

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to say that I agree with my friend Kim ( Cardinal) I think alot of times there is judging going on and alot of times people just don't understand anyway I am always here for anyone that needs to talk and God knows I understand. I had such a PEACEFUL Thanksgiving Just had my husband myself my kids and one true friend and her daughter that have been by my side throughout my ordeal with Matt Anyway just wanted to say Hi and hope everyone is well. I used to think that bad children must have had bad parents...then I got educated by my son being on the town's court TV...
not only did others judge, some came quietly out of the woodwork to share their trials and tribulations with me.
there were a lot of us!
Two days ago, on our local police facebook page, the kid that origionally got my son in trouble (he showed up with his brother to a house my son was house sitting as a freshman, and one visited, one asked to use the bathroom and they robbed the house, while my stupid kid was thinking he had these tough guys as his new friends. DUH) anyway, that kid Jake, is on fb with the police for not showing up to court again, and now for domestic violence. This is a good 14 years later. Geez. Made me grateful my kid is out of that life.
Funny how social media has played a big part of my awareness, and my growth (thru humiliation, and then forcing me to be honest, and screw those that can't deal with it.)
