My husband when he was younger, before i met him had a drug addiction problem (street drugs and prescription drugs) We have been together 6 or 7 years, married for 3.5, he has not had a problem at all until about 6 months ago when his health got really bad (its very tough, he's only 26) and he was prescribed some of the same drugs he was once addicted to, they became a problem, he od'ed a couple times, he was completely out of his mind and had no idea the effect it was having on his family (we have a 2.5year old and a 6 month old). We were ready to leave but he really wanted help and to change so we worked together with his doctor to get him on different meds and i keep everything locked up in a safe that only i know the combination for. He just had a surgery last week and was given a new painkiller/antinflammitory to take, i havn't yet worried about locking them up although he had asked me to so he didn't have to remember to take them. So anyways, everything was fine until tonight, and he can't stay awake, he keeps falling asleep standing/sitting/in mid sentance and his eyes keep rolling back in his head. This is not nearly so bad as the other times he took too many meds but i'm feeling very suspicious and everytime i ask why he's feeling so crappy he keeps shrugging it off like its nothing (this makes me even more suspicious) Also, he will not go to bed even though he is practically passing out standing there. He also had a heart attack about 2 weeks ago which was very very scary and he's supposed to go to the hospital if he's falling asleep standing because that could be another sign of heart distress or another heart attack but he is still shrugging off the fact that something is not right. What do you guys think? I dont' think its been long enough since the last episode for me not to get suspicious easily but where do you draw the line? I don't feel much like giving him too many chances, i'm still angry about the last time, i just try not to think about it. His mom is also staying with us this weekend so it seems a funny time for him to be having trouble with the meds but he is in alot of pain right now so i imagine the temptation is alot higher too. Ugh! I just don't know what to think. Any advice or thoughts on the situation are welcome.
