Today I am a proud mother, My daughter went out to dinner last night with a friend she met in her program. I have to say I was a nervous wreck all night because she hasn't been out anywhere in months. I kept my cool and kept busy all night determined not to call and see how things were going. This morning she woke me up and tlold me never again would she have contact with this girl, I asked her why and she told me fiirst it started at dinner the girl ordered a drink, Krista refused and told her it would mess woth her sobriety, then they went back to her house which she shares with a few room-mates and was offered weed again she told them no. I know krista should have left right then but she stayed for awhile longer until one of the roomates offfered her an oxy, again she told them she was sober and if she even took one pill she knew it was all over and she'd never come back from it and then she left. Turns out this girl lives with a bunch os druggies. I can't tell you how proud of her I am,all I could do was wrap my arms around her and cry, I told her she's come a long long way from the addict she was. I do know and so doew she that she will always be an addict but for now she can truely say she is an addict in recovery.
