So, it's been a week since our son came back home after being out couch hopping for two months+.

I have to say, it IS an adjustment for the three of us for sure. We have different ways of 'living'. Okay, I'm OCD about cleanliness, not a bad thing! Like his friend that visited from his Navy ship days, 'it is like a magazine...'....so that is a good thing!

Anyhow, I see many positive changes. His temper is much better, once we've settled in, and when we are talking now, he is very thoughtful about what he says, which makes ME be thoughtful about what I say....It was rough last week, but the past few days and help from someone here, I really took a deep breath and started listening to 'my son' and not the addict. He is clean from all drugs except for smoking pot here and there. He drank, but decided he has no right drinking. But he is honest about it. I know, I know 'substituting issue'....but it does calm him, not lazy calm, but tempermental calm. And like he says, one step at a time, if this quits his 'cravings' then so be it...okay...we'll leave it there (for now *wink *wink).

So as in any addiction, it is all one day at a time, but I am enjoying that he is pitching in with his step dad and helping him when he never use to, he would sit around and not even ASK if he needed help....but now he is right there asking if he needs a hand (right now they are working on my washing machine. I had asked my hubby if he needed help, he said no, but our son went down and they are now working together on it....THAT is worth it all! They needed to work on their relationship badly!).

Today, I went to a play in a neighboring town, dropped him to see his GF and then picked him up, it was a beautiful day and we both had some fun and the hubby just got back from his final snowmobile run for the past 3 days. So......

Just updating...don't know what tomorrow will bring, but hopefully more positivity.
