I have come to realize my addict is not interested in changing her life. She is content spending her days feeding her addiction.
I on the other am so very tired of dealing with her and her choices. I also realize my relationship with her will never be what it use to be
. I have hope that one day she will seek treatment and rejoin her family. We live and miss her dearly.
I'm moving forward, one day at a time. There certainly isn't any magic answer to help me on this journey. Believe me I have searched over and over. What I have discovered through all the searching though is how many people going through this journey have basically have said the same things.
Take care of yourself, do not enable, let go and let god, you can't fix it, pray, addiction is a disease an until the addict is ready to get help there is nothing I can do, and the list goes on
I wish everyone peace on this journey, take time to notice the little gems along the rough patches we are traveling on.

the only thing is that we still have to FEEL all those terrible feelings. And there are no short answers for that.
All I can tell you is that I think, after all we have been through, that I am a better person. wiser, less judgemental, smarter, tougher, more generous, and appreciating life.
