never argue with a drunk. If you don't like the way he acts when he is out drinking...don't go with him. Or take a separate car. And if you are drinking, then there are two drunks arguing...always good for youtube but not good for a relationship.

Every person has the right to be treated with respect, dignity and love. Even the person waiting on you in a restaurant...or the person taking your money at the check out counter...Everyone.

What have you done that is so terrible in your life that you deserve to be treated in any way but a good way? Now, I am not saying that couples don't argue or fight...but if you are doubting yourself? time to take a break.
Meanwhile, I am not sure what any of this has to do with addiction, but I will tell you that my daughter just left a marriage at 25, and they had been together since 15, and he made her doubt herself, and she is the happiest she has been in years, and has only been gone from him two months....and having fun too.

I think you should leave this relationship. If the whole family considers hanging out at the bar is a good way to spend the evening this shows this is a normal pattern for him and it is not a good sign for the future.
Save yourself years of heart ache and get out now.
