My AH wakes up at midnight after being passed out since 6:30 and when I mention that he was drunk when I came home from work he basically just blows me off and says hes going back to bed....and this is one of the worst feelings I get when he just ignores me...he always does this! Now I have to get some rest...I'm exhausted! There is no love left in this marriage and I know I need to leave but its so hard to let go! Now his father plans on building an addition onto our house and its in his name and belongs to their family.....FIL thinks we are just one big happy family. He knows about his sons drinking but nothing he can do either. I'm going to look tor some help ASAP to get out of here... my new neighbors have offered to protect me and help me also anytime ....they questioned if I was ok over here and have heard my AH attitude towards me and didn't appreciate it....their mother is involved with the shelter around here too
but no one can decide for you what you should do.
I am sure that your kids seeing this behavior is not good for them either.
Dream about where you would like to be in 5 years, and then make a plan. don't let fear stop you...but don't do anything you aren't really ready to do.
In my heart, I want to yell "get out, run!" but it is not anyone's choice but your own. You might choose to stay forever.
Whatever you do, I do hope that the children are safe and getting all the mental health support you can find for them. They can only copy the examples they grow up with. They are the future.
