Glad you have a little peace, all for the contract, all up front no if ands or buts on your son's part, but also in your part, don't let your guard down,,, hope is really what we live on,, really worring is like sitting in a rocking chair,,, you keep moving but go no where,,, his recovery is his,,, if he uses thats his "free will", but keep in mine, they relapse , before they use,,,,,

Love, and spiritual support is al you can do,,, don't become obsessed with his recovery

You are an amazing person and I love your strong faith! I am interested in seeing your contract you have with your son... like the sort of things you expect he does.. that was one area my family had troubles with, setting expectations and following through with trust or consequences.

thanks but i have to tell you i don't feel too amazing but I do have faith. I don't know how I would get through the day without it! As far as the contract goes it is pretty much a list of rules and expectations such as 1. No Lies 2. Respecting our home by not bringing drugs into it. ( I often do room checks like a prison guard to ensure this rule) 3. Submitting to random at home drug tests 4. Attending all rehab classes 5. staying in touch when he does go out 6. NEVER driving under the influence of anything! ( my husband and I gave him his truck as a graduation gift and I WILL take it away if this rule is broken 7 Allowing us to keep an eye on his bank accounts ( which is the 1st place I look when i'm doubtful of him) and a few other rules and in return he gets to live at home in a clean warm house and free meals laundry privelages etc... He gets free medical coverage which i remind him is very important because he would have had 34k in medical bills from his previous hospital stays etc He also gets to keep his job with my husband his cell phone and financial help with car insurance . I will say that he does willingly go along with all our rules but he has always been respectful to us in the sense that he was never a backtalker or runaway etc I don't know if he will stay that way always but for now it is working for us So like I said I think he was crying out for help to us he said a few things prior to our finding out about his drug use in January and I found his cell phone while he was in the hospital in Jan and he was texting to all his friends that he wanted to get straightened out and go to rehab but was so afraid of hurting us by telling us I hope he meant what he said it is going on 8 weeks that he has been drugfree and I pray everday that it continues Peace to all of us!
