You have read this before but setting boundaries is the only why for you to get healthy. I read the book "Setting Boundaries With Your Adult Children" and found it to be harsh, at times, but in the end if offers steps on how to do this and how to detach with love.
I am much healthier when I have limited contact with my son.
Please hang in there and take care of yourself. We all know we didn't cause the addiction and we can't fix it.
Both books helped me, along with therapy and NAR-Anon. There are also online meetings - NAR-anon Chat. We are meeting tomorrow night at 830pm EST. If you can't get to local in person meeting, these are good alternatives.
He was kicked out of a recovery house because he was using K2. He stopped using all together for about two months. And then I found weed in his bedroom. I could see the pattern starting over again. It scared me to death.
I was going to discuss it with him when he got out of work last Saturday, however we ended up arguing about it before work. Needless to say, he did not go to work past the tiny bag and left the house. Without his bipolar medication.
He text me that he wanted to come home because he hadnt taken his meds. I told him he could if we could talk calmly. He said to forget it
Then last night I text him to see if he was safe. He said he was but he would like mommy to eat because he was starving. I told him that if he was starving he wasnt safe. I offered him food and shelter and a warm bed. He told me off. It was horrible. Then I told him it was his decision and he told me to go play in traffic and called me a few names. He and I have been very close since my husband passed away and I find this situation not knowing where he lives almost unbearable.
I cry a lot. Knowing that I was the one to tip him over the edge makes me physically sick. I know anything or anybody couldve done it, however it was me.
I wish I could give you some words of wisdom, however I dont have any. All I could offer you is hugs and prayers.
