20 years ago a guy I used to work with (Mike) was diagnosed with Cancer and died. We were pretty close friends and his death was hard on me. I cried a lot after and for a week nothing seemed to comfort me. The one night about an hour after me and hubby went to bed there was a sound our bedroom door that woke me - I sat up in bed and realized it was my friend Mike standing there. He glowed with light and told me not to cry any more, that he was okay and happy. I spoke a few words and then laid back down. The next morning I knew I hadn't dreamed this b/c my husband asked me who I had been talking to.

The Bible teaches us that our lives here on earth are only temporary and that there's something much better waiting for us after death. I never quite got the full understanding until that night - and I remember like it was yesterday.

I am glad for you that you know you are making her life better, happier and more comfortable now. I am so happy your son got to give her the letter. I am sorry her husband is turning in the wrong direction..but that will have to be a problem for later.

Many prayers and hugs for you are on the way, I will pray that you SIL does not have to suffer and will be at peace with God. I went through this with my dad 10 years ago and wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. You are a loving wonderful SIL for doing this for her and it sounds like you are the rock in your family, don't be afraid to go somewhere and just scream and cry if you have to, it sure helped me!

Dee there are no words that I can say to you that express my admiration of what you are doing for your sister in law and family. I am so sorry that you have to find yourself in this position of watching a loved one suffer. I hope she has peace in her journey and that her suffering is made a little easier to bare by having you by her side. I'm sure it means so much to her. What an honor... I say that because I have felt that peace, as if by osmosis, while being there at the time.. a definite spiritual experience indeed. Bittersweet though it may be, my prayers are for comfort and peace for all involved.
