Can you discuss seroquel with a doctor? It is commonly used. Not sure if it has addictive qualities. Research it. Prob for my son is he had trouble getting up at rehab on it.

My mom, 85 with lousy sleep has been told NO by her doctor....she is 85, with pain issues...and NOT an addict. A good doctor, will NOT do it.
My son was given melatonin in rehab. That should be the first step.
Recently my doctor referred me for a sleep study and they told me I had to try sleep medication first. I'm reluctantly trying a low dose of Trazodone. It's very mild. My son's doctor also recently prescribed this and said it was not addictive. It's also a mild anti-depressant. That said, you'd have to trust him not to take it with alcohol or to take more than prescribed.
Does your son smoke marijuana? That can interfere with sleep.
