I have posted this before...Literally when things got so bad with my son that I felt I could not breathe anymore...and he was 8 hours away and I had no way to do a drive by...I had a statue of a hand upturned into a gentle cup position. On my hands and knees I crawled to it, and put my hand in that hand and asked God to take my children into his hands...and released my ownership of something I had no control of in the first place.
was the obsession gone? no. but my thinking was healthier. I also read Dale Carnagie books years ago about anxiety and they said in them, "imagine the worst case senerio" if you can figure out how to handle that, you can handle anything easier than that. So I thought about my son being dead. I figured out he would be at peace, and in a way, so would the family....I saw it in my mind's eye and dealt with it. After that, any news (jail, hospital etc) was good news by comparison, and thank God, I have not gotten that dreaded phone call yet. He is sober 3 years this April.
I did the serenity prayer a lot too. I walked, did yoga...tried to keep myself healthy in mind and body and spirit.

I surrendered my addict , by putting her name on a helium balloon and sending it to God,, comes a point where there is nothing you can do,,, reason she not answering you, most likely is high,, I always knew when my addict was using,, she avoided me,, her mom,, when she is not actively using, we are extremely close, you can't allow your addict consume you it will literally make you insane, and physically sick,,, let go and let God,,,

Comes to a point , that I'd you get that dreaded phone call,, that i
She was not beaten, and that she is not some field

No one can do anything to you that you don't let them. She is an adult she can live her life the way she chooses and you live yours the way you choose. Don't take it personally and don't dwell on what your sister is doing. Find things you like to do, go hang out with your friends, hopefully she will get her act together.
You have the power to control only your life don't let your sister take that away from you.

Thank you for your support. Sometimes I can't control myself from trying to contact her. I sometimes think i'd rather hear her or read a text from her than know she's gone and I didn't try... I'm getting stronger, but seriously, trying to move on without her is a hard task.

Fridge I know how you feel I was the same way with Ah now ex. I finally had to make myself do what was best for me at this moment in time. I am not saying I wouldn't talk to ex, but for now it is easier for me not to talk to him. I find if I do it makes me depressed because of what we lost. So I choose to keep making myself move forward, sometimes I am dragging myself but I keep trudging forward. Not all days are good, but most days are great.
