I wrote a while back that I lost my sister in a tragic fire acciednt last December. What was no surprise is the drugs they found in her system. At age 56, she struggled with drug addiction since she was a teenager. She has 2 adult daughters from different fathers (both fathers raised the girls as my sis abandoned them early on for her drug fixation). Ironically, both the girls struggle with drug addiction. The oldest gave up her 1st son right after birth, She has a 2nd son who is being raised by his father since she has commited various offenses that landed her in jail. She's out now - went to rehab and appears to be clean for the time being. She lives in another state, however, we frequently PM and talk to each other often.

The youngest (19) is well on her way to the same road my sis traveled. She's addicted to herion and is supported by her dad. Has a boyfriend who is also addicted - neither want or care to find employement and are happy living jus thte way they are.

It took months to identify my sis as the youngest drug her feet in providing a DNA sample to the coroner - myself & 2 other siblings submitted ours early one - but they were holding out for her D to come in to run them. It's no wonder why she did that - she feared her drug addiction would be found.

I tried to stay involved with her, but soon became tired of her using me to get things she wanted - which she more than likely sold to keep her addiction going.

At this point, I can't do this again. I can't stand by and watch someone ruin their life. I don't want to be that heartless person, but damn - she makes it so easy.

Any suggestions on how to be supportive, yet not involved?
