My daughter needs medical attention. About a month ago my 28-year-old daughter, Jillian, who lives in Arizona got an infection in her arm and had to have surgery. The wound is in the crook of her arm. She left the hospital AMA after the surgery.she is homeless and is living in her car or anywhere else. Her sister flew from Texas to Arizona and brought her home to try and keep the wound clean until it healed. She left after seven days to get back to her boyfriend and their drug life.
I am in contact with her occasionally by text and she is very angry with me because I stopped paying for her apartment and her cell phone . My therapist (I decided to seek help recently because of recommendations from this site) says I have to let her make the decision to get into Recovery. Jillian has been to rehab three times and sober living. She had a job and was doing very well until October of last year.I am so torn because I am afraid she will get an infection, staff strep or MRSA, I know the therapist is right because we have been on this road for 10 years. I will keep talking to the therapist and keep reaching out to Jill. any words of encouragement or advice from you would be welcome.

Of two sons who are addicts I've learned finally...no matter what we do or what we say we cannot make they get help. We cannot make them see what we want them to see or do what we think is best. I've tried everything known to mankind to get mine well.
At the end of the day....we can only pray and hope they come to realize there is a better way.
The hardest concept for me as a mom was...it's their journey. I'm still trying to wrap my head around WHY DONT THEY LISTEN???
Today they are both clean...don't know what tomorrow brings. What feels like a million relapses and my insides 100 years old I've almost learned to let go and let God.
When an addict is happy with you its enabling. When they are angry it's because you are probably trying to save their life.
Yes exhausted is an understatement of how we live. We are part of a moms club we don't want to be in.
Take some down time for you. I know what you are going thru. Our minds never stop thinking about them. And the fear we live it is overwhelming

She's still texting, trying to get a phone, sleeping in a car in HOT HOT HOT Tucson AZ with no AC. We just keep her in our prayers.
I found out on Mother's Day that each of my other 3 children and their spouses are expecting babies. I will be a first time Nana x 3!
