I am having such a hard time dealing with my daughter for the past few days and I'm wondering why. I know she's not using because she is getting pee tested and they have all been fine. Her Dr. changed her anti-depressant medicine from Prozac to wellbutrin and I'm thinking this may be the reason. She is miserable, crying at the drop of a hat and just very emotional. Does anyone have any experience with wellbutrin? How long does a switch in medication like this take to work, should I call her Dr. or give it a few more days. She's so miserable she's making me miserable, any advice?

I am so sorry pat...my husband was put on it to help quit smoking and it gave him crazy dreams...so he stopped. and still smokes.
I don't know how long it takes.
It must be horrible...I would be losing my mind.
Take a walk, or a hot bath...or eat chocolate. Hugs to you. Hope it is better soon!
(don't get in the car and scream. I did that once, and the back windows were open...."I can't take it anymore" heard for blocks!)

Could be the switch in medicine I would call the doctor.

All antidepressants take about 4-6 weeks to reach their full effect. I am sorry you are having a rough time, give it time and hopefully everything will improve.

Hi Pat, call the Doctor, I agree with Karinka, a switch especially in antidepressants can make a huge change.

Pat, after reading everyone's reply, I feel like slapping my forehead and saying "why didn't I think of that!"
Let us know what the doctor says...if they can say anything with the privacy laws.

Thanks for your advice, I am keeping a close eye on Krista because she is so depressed. I plan on calling the Dr. on Monday she insisted that I not do it yesterday but I am going to anyway. She has already signed release forms so I will be able to talk to him. I'll let you know how we make out. Thanks again.

could be the wrong antidepressant or the switch that is causing her this distress. it is good that you are going to doctor asap. wishing you and your daughter strength in the days ahead
