Matt moved out over the weekend. I miss him so much!! He has been doing very well the last 14 months and I know I should probably feel grateful that he has been doing so well and I do, but in my heart I am just so sad that he left. As much as I didn't want him to go I did not try and stop him ( it wouldn't have worked anyway) I know Blue often says that it is a job done right when they leave and that is true after all that is the goal to raise them to be self sufficient .and I'm not sure if I would feel differently had he never had a drug problem .Yes my house is cleaner and calmer the groceries don't disappear as quickly as when he was here not to mention I will probably see a decent savings on the utilities less showers laundry tv etc. but I just hope he has not jumped the gun as far as going before he's ready .Stress is a big issue for him as it is for many addicts so I worry will he get stressed when rent is due and he's a little short or unexpected events come up that costs him more than expected and I know he has to learn how to handle these things as we all do in life without running to drugs as a coping mechanism. Believe it or not as I'm sitting here writing this having my coffee the phone rings it's Matt he's flipping out because he got a 100$ parking ticket for his commercial van parked on the street last night at his new place. He lives in an incorporated village where you can not park on the street with commercial vehicles. Before he moved there I asked him about the parking situation because he has two vehicles and he gave me the usual answer its fine mom I can park in the driveway . I knew that wasn't the case I have been to this house where he lives and it has a very narrow long driveway he lives upstairs with two other friends and there is a family on the main floor how are 5 or 6 vehicles all going to fit ? Of course the answer is there not. So my advice to him was to see if he could possibly rent a parking space from one of the commercial businesses down on the Main Street off of his road or maybe he could leave his van in Queens at his bosses house and drive his car there in the morning pick up his van etc... So we'll see what happens but I knew this was gonna become an issue but I didn't say anything I figured he will work it out somehow. It's very frustrating to me sometimes that I am not allowed to give my opinions on some things yet when ever he has a problem I am the first one he calls looking for a solution ? Maybe I should be flattered I don't know. This too shall pass.oh well have a good day everyone thanks for listening. Dee
