my little goal is to get some exercise every day. i have become isolated and a couch potatoe the last half year. I go to work and come home, barely socialize outside of work and I know I need to start living again. So my mini goal is to walk for 5 minutes each day

This year my work hours have been reduced... at 1st, I was upset, looking at it as a negative thing, BUT NOW I realize it is a gift!!!!

I will have extra time to focus on my personal growth after a year of S's issues and the death of my dad...

Time to read, and journal concentrating on noticing the blessings in my life... You all count mightily!!!!

I wish I could think of a New Year's goal but right now my life is consumed by my addict daughter, how sad.

Loosing 1/2 the weight I need to by September then splurging at an all-day spa.

Patnared, even more you need to do this. We have all be at that point were our while life is consumed by our addicts, it destroys everything around us, but then is when we let the devil in disguise win. Please my dear friends don't let him win. Do one little thing for yourself, it may be as simple as making sure you look in the mirror, and tell yourself you won't let addiction win. Hugs

My goal is to get through all of this. The family troubles, the missing him, and get a job, so I am not broke, and lose weight.

My goal is to no longer care so much about what my family thinks, since they don't live in my world, and they certainly don't support me in the ways that matter. I will focus on what is important, not shielding them, taking care of them, or caring about them, when obviously they don't care about me. The important things in my life is to get my fiance home, get our life fixed after this prison stint and be happy.

Well since I've learn to make time for myself every morning at 5,,,, there are a couple of things,,,

That thought crossed my mind several weeks ago (getting together that is). Would kinda be like some of those national groups that meet every year or two for a fun-filled long weekend????

I would love that, would that not be the greatest gift. I'm in we could make a central meeting place, or an island?

This time of year the USVI would be heaven but some place more centrally located to everyone that's easy to get to would probably be more practical and less expensive.

I don't know what I can do to take time for myself because I will admit I am already doing that a bit here and there. I am in a book club that has been together for over ten years and we get together throughout the month as needed. I already have a wonderful therapist, I excersize when I can. I guess I need to focus on helping others take care of themselves since I already have found the value in that.
That will have to be my goal for next year. To reach out to others who may not be as far into this as myself and need some encouragement to take care of themselves.Make time for themselves and treat themselves better.

What is USVI??? Or where?

For a long time we have discussed how wonderful it would be to meet. The problem is WHERE is a central location? I would be up for anything, if we planned ahead. But some live in Australia ( suchaslife) and the UK, so we would really have to figure out something.

It would be the best weekend we had in a long time, with wonderful people that all need a break, all need to be with a whole group of people that totally understand. No one that would judge or condemn. Now where do we start?

Yep Kim the US Virgin Islands - St. Croix, Thomas and John are in my opinion a slice of heaven on earth. The British-owned Islands are only a ferry ride away and so I figured our friends from UK & Australia could make it; just dreaming!!!

Anyway, if you've never been I would encourage you to put it on your bucket list.
