Well it seems like Long Island NY is finally starting to wake up to the dirty little secret that our area has become inundated with heroin. I know it is only the beginning but it is a step in the right direction. According to our D.A. These dealers were flooding the area with highly potent heroin and their motive greed. They are not even users!! They are a married middle aged couple with 10 children between them. One if the sickest things I read was that thousands of bags of heroin were scattered throughout their home and some were even found within inches if their 2 yr old daughters crib . Lovely lovely people. By the way they also admitted to stuffing the bags extra full so as to insure repeat business. I know we have a VERY long road ahead but this just might save a few life's and prevent a potential new addict from forming ... At least for today. Thank you God!!

It is so important to find the dealers and put them out of business. In my area, the heroin deaths have escalated so much it's in the news several times a week. The overdose rates are being reported like its the weather. It's so bad, they are now tracing the deaths back to the dealers so they can prosecute them for murder. The Governor of NJ passed a law making it possible for all emergency medical techs to carry Narcan and learn how to use it correctly.

Finally, this epidemic is getting some attention and steps are being taken in the right direction. They finally figured out if they can get this devil poison off the streets, maybe we wouldn't have so many addicted children in our society today.

At the end of my mom's street, they busted a guy in a lovely house. saw the photos of his "friends"...no wonder the neighbors are nervous!

Being an addict and doing something unforgivable is more easily understood to me than scumbags who would just be in it for the money...and expose their kids like that.
A special place in hell....I am hoping anyway.

We just had a major bust in our area too, not only did they get heroin they found fentanyl too. Apparently the dealers are mixing this and that what's killing so many people in our area. Since January we have had 77 known overdoses of all ages , men and women, white and black. It just shows us that addiction does not discriminate.

Great news Dee. There's been a lot of drug busts in my area and State as well. Too many parents have been screaming and putting pressure on the police & lawmakers.

I am a taxi driver in oregon and the heroine and opiode issues are Big and everywhere....I rejoice at each bust and cry when a young person gets in my cab begging for me to be a suragate mom at the er when they start dts from not getting a drug that makesvtheir body need it...or csuses cadiac arrest when they try to stop on their I own...it is so trajic...I have assisted 12 kids..between 17 and 25 to enter rehad this way...talk to the cabbies in your area and your local hospitals and rehabs...we can all be on the lookout forva life to save....reaching out to others in this way is a way to strengthen awarenes...that may begin with a bottle of pain pills in our own medicine cabinet.
