I'm sorry your going threw this. It's not fair to you or your children. Sometimes its better to leave for a couple days. He needs help, like rehab. I went threw some of that with my hubby. He was on opiates. I never left his side because I knew he was trying. He didn't act to different. Sadly he passed 7 months ago from opiates.
Have you tried getting him in rehab? Of course it only works if he wants to quit. I wish you luck and sorry again for everything your going threw.

it's okay not to know... just decide what you need right now... one day at a time. it is a good thing that you have decided to take a break at least. I say give it a few days at least. it is an amazing feeling to feel safe and comfortable.

I was terrified and heart broken the day i asked my ex to leave, but immediately it felt different, and after a few days everything felt different...my house was queit, safe, happy, comfortable, i slept soundly, I got up smiling, my kids were even different... happier. give it a while. it might take a little time, but see how it feels, he will be okay on his own, so try to just focus on youself an dyour kids and see what life feels like without the anxiety and drama.

Steph I am truly so sorry for what you have been through and for your loss. My H has talked about a rehab but nothing ever changes. He's drinking every day all day and calling the kids names and acting like a crazy man. He then told me that sex once a month isn't enough to sustain him .. and he doesn't want to fight our entire life but nothing changes. It WAS HARD leaving but I am enjoying no stress and drama for most of these last 24 hours. .. I spent some time with him today at home while my mom had the two older kids and we were already arguing. I think I am going to need more time away from him to even comprehend how I'm feeling. Feels like I'm suppressing a lot right now but memories come flooding a little at a time how things were at home and how its affected me.

Time is not a bad thing.I have been by myself for about a year.I havent let him move back in because he doesnt want to quit drinking and get some help. I told him I cant let him have free pass in this marriage. He had done alot of wrong things. The first few months were hard. I took it one day at a time...it was truly all I could do.I can say, a good peace comes, progressive healing has been coming my way, as I work recovery for myself and enjot the benefits of the fellowship of my support group.I cant tell you how much the peace and claity has come to mean to me.Oh I have a good ways to go, I guess I'll get there, when I get there- I can only do what i can and God has made up the difference, thankfully! My acceptance and enjoyment doesn't mean all is lost, if I have experienced these without being with my husband. I can't say that I want him back, he doesnt really want to divorce a very good woman like myself(lol).But i can enjoy a moment here and there whether all the things I want solved yesterday are or not.I ahve put most of my life on hold waiting for him to ____________....So yeah, i can enjoy a minute and not feel guilty.I've suffered enough.

I just made my addict husband leave 3 weeks ago. It has been hard and I have missed him. But I know this pain is temporary, and it is already getting easier. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Had I stated with him, he would have kept hurting my kids and I over and over....

Thanks Steph and everyone else too. I wish I could just make him leave for the next two days...I'm not sure what will happen next..

I think the hardest thing to do is sit back and watch your family crumble. There comes a time when you realize that you just cant live this way anymore. Sure, its a pretty scary moment because you dont know what the heck is going to happen next but sometimes its still your safest and best option.

You dont want your kids growing up thinking that what they see for behavior is okay. For me, when my 5 yr old told me that Daddy was mean all the time and made him cry, I knew I had to do something. It was so damn hard to give that ultimatum but I was prepared to leave and move out that very day if it came down to it. Thankfully my husband went for help and has been clean for 6 months. But I was ready to make that choice and leave if it came down to it. For myself. For my son.

Only you know when enough is enough.
