Does she have any plans? is she going to go for help anywhere?

She needs a plan a goal, small but something to help her see that she can have a future without drugs. I know she is going to out patient but is she seeing a therapist. I hope so. Encourage her to take step by step there is no rush. You know the addictive mind always thinking.
The problem is courts do not want government to pay for rehabs and so it is cheaper for them to go to out patient. It sad, they will pay $60,000 a year to keep a person in jail instead of spending much less to help that person before it get to the point where they end up in jail.

Oh, sweet Kim... I hear ya! And you don' t sound crazy... It seems like my guy does not even know what to do, or how to function... Almost like he's stunted, or paralyzed. You are a very strong mama, and I know that she will come out on top with you behind her...

Oh my dear friend, I know the feeling of not knowing. It sucks. Kathy I am with you I get so twisted because the rationale of the government and insurance companies is so antiquated it drives me manic. When my son returned from rehab I experienced the same thing I know it's a little different, but I believe in life we all need purpose so maybe you can start by giving her assignments ( AKA chores) my son lived to cook so I would ask would you mind making pizza, or a sauce for pasta. How about redoing her space that she will be living in, is she going to meetings? Volunteer, how is she interacting with her daughter?

I'm praying for you and your daughter Kim! I agree with everyone about the government. My husband came to me a month ago and agreed to go to rehab. Evansville, IN is considered the meth capital of the United States, and not one place to take him to unless we had thousands of dollars. He was put on a waiting list out of town and went back to the drugs and left his family before he could get in. There should always be a crisis place offered by the government to get an addict in immediately. There are so many ripple effects caused by addiction, such as broken marriages, broken homes, and the effects it has on the children later in life. It would save so much more money to help the addict to get clean!

Kim, first off big HUG~! I hear it, they are so lost when they get out, yet the jails just dump them on the sidewalk with NOTHING to prepare them for society again, doesn't matter if it is a few months or years, they STILL have so much to contend with. AND then there are the fed charges in their backgrounds which basically make it SO hard for them to get hired ANYWHERE! So they come out, no money, some with NOwhere to go....so what are their choices then?

Keep reminding her of what she DOES have right now.
