As most of you know my outside job,,is a waitress ( which I love),today a group of 30 severely autistic young adults came in for lunch,, granted it was chaotic at times,,ran few miles,,, but it hit me during that time,,,how greatful I am,, that my daughter is a herion addict,,and one day she can fight through this disease,, and re-enter this world,,, as I engaged with these young adults,, that they will always be dependent on someone in order to just live in this world,,and forever their parents will remain the same,,, I suddenly realize that yes I have problems,,,but mine is nothing like dealing with life of a Austic person,,,
So my friends,,, it's not about the storm,,, but the ability to dance in the rain,,,, today I danced!!!!!!!

Point in fact I have a neighbor who has 4 children; the older 3 are all smart, top college students now. I remember watching her with these kids as they each earned high honors and accolades and being pea-green envious as I watched my son sink into drugs while her son (both are same age) rise like a bright star. Then last week I saw her outside with the youngest boy - should be in high school but like the kids you saw is also autistic and will forever be dependent on her for everything. And like you I thought my kid has a chance at life.
