This is a really hard time of year for so many of us. I know for me I'm just going thru pure hell.
I can repeat myself from last post as nothing has changed much.
Every year I write a fb post to kind of wrap up my year. This year I'm not. I couldn't even begin to let most people I know 99% of what my life has been like this year. There are a small handful of those I reveal my life to.
What happened to this world where there is such little compassion for others? I know I would be judged and looked down upon. Honestly I couldn't care less. It's my sons I protect with their privacy. Everyday I read people's rants and views on politics and the crazy neighbors. But post one thing about drugs and they clam up.
Just once I would like to just tell people to shut the f up. Stop with complaining your kid didn't make honor roll or your kid called you a bitch. Stop with the one big happy family bs.
I'm amazed at how my own siblings shut me off like what my family has is contagious. We were disinvited for the holidays. I'm hurt. But mostly mad. Like I have no feelings and don't already feel like utter crap going it alone.
Whew. I just really needed to get that off my chest before I blew up and they would think I've totally flipped. Rant over.

Glad you got it off your chest hope your holidays are a bit peaceful. Hugs.
I don't think my family ever understood about my son's alcoholism...or that he was always in jail. They don't get it now either. I hope they never have to learn the hard way.
Perhaps this year you can make the day about rest and peace for yourself.
Maybe it is fear.
maybe it is ignorance.
whatever it is, it is on them, not you.
My youngest has an spot tomorrow to get on suboxone to detox. Let's hope he makes it till then. $800 in heroin last week.
My poor dog is holding on by a week or so. Maybe.

If my siblings turn their back on me when life is so awful then I will never ever be there when they do call. I guess I'm the black sheep. Funny when my married sister has had three affairs this year on her husband. She's never worked a day in her life. Bet you she comes crying when she gets caught. She text
Me to say they are breaking up after the holidays. I text her back after weeks of no contact. I said thanks for touching base when you need me. You know what I'm going thru. She said goodbye and good luck and blocked me. And we are the ones that are f'ed up. Ugh
