Hi,
I am new to this site. I lived with an alcoholic ex-boyfriend for 2 years, we were together 3 years. He was so he said " recovering" when I met him, I did not know he was going to start drinking only 1 month after we moved in. It was 2 years of hell for me. I just got him out in June with the help of the police. Yup he wasn't out of detox for 24 hours before he drank a bottle of vodka and who knows what else. But I made a promise to myself ( he was a drunk who could only drink alone, always after I went to bed.) The next time I catch him drunk I am going to call the cops and I kept that
promise to myself. I grabbed my phone and made that fateful call. He lied about everything, stole my car it didnt bother him that he had no license because of a dui conviction, he stole money from me, lost 2 jobs in 2 years. Was such a LOSER I couldnt even look at him in the end. What cracks me up now is that I dreamed of getting away from him for months and months but now that I am alone I just feel like I am a failure and very lonely. I have no friends and I am NOT ready to date again.
I wish I could be happy...I havent been happy in years.

I had a big break up and was broke and starting over and I bought a pair of red shoes...the least practical thing...but they made me feel kick ass. so they were the start of my recovery.
It isn't how many times you get knocked down, it is that you keep getting up. so get up one more time. Be the change you want to see.
