I do know about addiction. I do know that yours and his are still very active and close to the surface.
I know that for my son, they told him to not embark on any new relationships, or make any major changes in established ones during the first year. Why? because all of their energy should be on themselves, and getting better.
You just got out. You need to focus on you staying well...getting to meetings, getting support and learning to live free on the outside.
The thrill of getting out will be gone soon (if not already) and you will feel the need for your next addrenalyn fix...so focus on you.
if he can't deal with you being out, or whatever his problems are, they are for another day.
Yes, you understand addiction. You understand that no one can make anyone stop any addiction.
