Now he expects you to just erase all of that and take him back home and trust him again. He is making this all about him--not about you. That's what they call "stinking thinking".
It's really good that he wants to come clean and that he has been clean for a few weeks. But, his pressure on you shows that he is still thinking like an addict. He wants to erase everything that happened and pretend everything is normal. A person truly in recovery needs to face their demons and make amends. There's a difference between not taking drugs and being in recovery.
An addict truly in recovery needs to focus on recovery. I've heard it recommended that they should not be in a relationship for about a year. It's only been a few weeks. Meanwhile, you need to focus on your own recovery and providing a stable environment for your child.
I'm proud of you for sticking to your boundaries and taking care of yourself. If his feelings are hurt, then so be it. Don't be guilted into doing something that you aren't ready to do.
Ask yourself how much more time and energy do you want to spend on this man.
