Yes, I'm still alive ,, actually things are going very well at the moment,,,my addict is going on 27days clean, she is in a good recovery program with a great therapist, we has a family decided that it was time for her to come back home and face her responsibility to her 5 year old daughter (which we do have temporary custody of ),,, of course upond entering the door we had to re-establish the boundaries and have her sign a contract.,, we have come to this point of the journey that ut's her choice to remain clean and enjoy the endless support system that is available for her every need , which at anytime she chooses to use she will have to leave the comfort if her family,, which from past experience she knows we hold to it,,,
The joy if re-connecting with my daughter has been awsome,, however there are moments thd addicts attitude does appear, but from my endless learning,educating myself on this addiction,gathering every tool, and praying I'm in a better Place,,, realizing that I can not stop the addiction, however I can stop the it from consuming my life,,,, through this nightmare I've become a person that can conquer any mountain that stands in front if me,,,,it takes patience , believing, and hope never leaves,,,,, positive thinking is what gets me through each day,,, I will not lie , there has been moments of saddness, even times of defeat, but then I pull my big girl pants on a refuse to let the addiction control my life again,,, I know relaspse can happen again,, I am prepared , I however am no longer consummed with it,,,and prepared without guilt if that should happen
Is my daughter lucky, absolutely ,,, to have parents realize that addiction is more then just the drug use , and took the time to find what tough love really means, setting boundaries is how life should be,, and being able to hate the addict, and love my daughter ,,,,
I have prepared for the worst , ready for tomorrow , living for the moment ,,,,
To my dearest friends,,, that always check on me,,, I could not be where u am without you!!!
To God, for giving me the strength to conquer whatever mountain that stands in my way

Katrina ,,,,, your the wise one ,,, i'v gathered a lot my thought process through you ,,, Boundaries are so important ,, not only my addict, but my other three know that Shen I say something, I mean it,, so yes I gave come along way.,,, trust me it's not all candy and cupcake ,,, there are moments when I'm like wtf,,,,, but she knows she uses,,, I will not hesitate, feel guilty ,, about telling her to leave

Pen,,,, you know what I'm lucky ,,,,, reason moving back into the home I will be honest could be for my selfish reason,,, I love my granddaughter , she is my life ,, but girl I'm only 45,, and our youngest us 15,,, we also have a 16, and 20,,, and 23( which is our addict),,, I want to be a grandma ,,, this gives our dh the responsibility of raising her daughter , but in a safe, environment ,,, my daughter lived on her own at 19 with her daughter .. Doing great,, never worried about the little one,,, until she was 21,,, and the ball of nightmares unraveled,,,
So in a sneaky kind of way,,., I still have that giant safety net around Ava ,,, without them realizing it.,
I only wish you continued happiness and peace (as much peace as there can be with all those kiddos in the house!)

P.S.....I see you had some babies! you keep coming around and feeding them daily....LOL...I laughed my butt off when I saw our cardinals out back and 4 lil ones with them! How awesome that was to see and now the lil males are getting red...LOL...
