I have not had time to do much these last 4 weeks because my addicted son has been living with us. I never thought he would be back with us but this time something was different. This time when he relapsed he asked for help. He checked himself into a hospital and got meds, not drugs to mess him up but meds to calm his anxiety so that he could get into treatment. and when he was refused treatment because of those same meds he did not give up. He stayed with us recovering from the hell he had been living out on the streets and in prison and I believe he stayed clean and just last night he moved into a sober living house. All of this is so surreal to me because I had given up on him and lost all hope.... Now I have seen glimpses of the son I love and adore. the sweet sensitive caring boy who has been lost to me for ten years. I am praying the sober living will help him. While staying with us we asked very little of him in the way of treatment. He was just required to go to work every day come home and stay clean. He did all that. At sober living he will be forced to deal with his addictions, meetings, group therapy, its so much and I hope he can do it. So scared but good scared right now. He has never been able to handle treatment before but maybe this time will be the right time.... He will still work with my husband everyday so we can still have contact with him and kind of see how he is doing. I could use a few prayers right about now and maybe a miracle or two.
