I do think you guys should have an arrangement agreed on before she gets out. maybe she will decide she wants to move far away...or stay and stay sober...who knows.
I would offer her the opportunity to stay as a guest under xyz conditions and only if she remains sober. I would offer to take her to doctor's appointments, and her first meetings to meet people to get rides from (if she needs them) and i would require that she gets a job...pay you rent (save it for a deposit for her for her own place if you can afford to) Or have her look into a halfway house, or sober living house. Open communication.
and I used to say to people (very casually without realizing how it sounded) that if they saw me running naked down the street with my hair on fire, they would know I had snapped....my one old gentleman neighbor said( pondering it all) "huh, That sure would be interesting"..

I know how scary this must be for you my dear friend, But I have been thinking about this, I remember you saying that she did not have any drug rehabilition in Jail. It may be a good thing to consider one of the pre-requisites is that she attends an IOP, or at least meetings, and get a sponsor. I don't have to tell you the physiciological part is one side, but the mental illness and learning to how work through that is probably the harder part. I would reallyconsider sober living because what I have seen even with my son, is that because they are young, they don't know how to how a "young persons"life being sober. In sober living it helps that at least have a network of people their age supporting each other sociallyl and with meetings, and all of the other challenges that may arise. You! know my situation and I believe this is the path I will take when I cross that bridge. Besides that, you know I am always here, and I will be March 1st, remember be the kind of women that when you feet hit the ground in the morning, the devil says, oh CRAP! she's up. LOL I know all the best laid plans can be throw'd away sometimes. I think you've made some good plans, as far as contract. Hopefully also in the plans is an addictions counselor to help her remain sober and some responsibilities. Like pick up after herself, and fine a job. I'd still would lock up anything of value. I reached a point when living with ah once I had decided not to let his addiction wear me down anymore. I hope all works out for her and you.
