i think you made the right decsion,,,,,, although you can't continue to live by the what if's,,, but think you need to be longer in your recovery,,, your going to be a nervous wreck if he moves back in,,,, just continue connecting with mack,,,,, and enjoy the time you spend together,,,,, the day will come when you longer have to question,,, what you should do,,, it will just be done...

I totally agree with everyone here...My son talked me into bonding him out from jail a while ago...he made all these promises...So I bailed him out...It wasn't a week gone by and he was going sideways again...I had to endure complete craziness for eight months before he was incarcerated again in order to serve his sentence...You are doing the right thing....What is that old saying "When in doubt leave it out"....My thoughts and prayers are with you...stay strong !!!

I finally came to the decision, how many times did I let him back only for him to go back to using drugs. He would be clean, but once home all the old behaviors would return and in a few weeks, I think the longest was a month he was back using drugs.
By letting him come back so many times I set up a pattern and this last time when I said no my body was saying, "what!!! he is suppose to be back!" From what my counselor told me, we were in our own cycle and it wasn't working. It really was very hard on me, but like you I had to do what was best for me. Living with your spouse or bf and having all this turmoil and chaos sets your body up for anxiety and even your health suffering. Your constantly thinking is he going to high today?
I think you made the right choice.
You are right addicts are not aware of how their actions have effected us. They seem to put themselves first. This week my ex contacted me through email, I hadn't talked to him since Christmas and had told him I didn't want to talk to him. He doesn't understand why we can't be friends. He is with another woman, just had a baby and doesn't see how what he did to me would make me not talk to him. He even said, "he prays what he did to me doesn't happen to him, that this woman doesn't leave him. They always seem to want to put the focus back on themselves.

He understood. He said he won't rush me. He said he's going to prove to me every single day that he's clean and that he loves me.
Ok. Prove it to me.

I am glad too. It takes alot of time, patience and staying honest with myself. I have to just take it a day at a time and that is not easy for someone like me, who wants all the answers now
