My therapist at times will give me homework...like read this and see how it applies to your life...and those types of assignments do help me.
What I NEED is a therapist to LIVE with me and as each situation arises...handle it for me...LOL.
Mine does point out where I am failing to make boundries and does give me examples of how to speak to others or handle a situation.
I had some work situations once and she really helped me a lot...my outspokenness....would have made me look bad at that point...she did need to remind me that these were my "superiors" I was going to be talking to and gave me a better way to phrase my concern.
However, for the most part...I go 45 mins...talk manically...she doesn't get a chance to help me much.
But, for me going to her for 8 years.....I enjoy it because I tell her things I can't comfortably share with anyone else...without being put down or argued with.
