I don't post on here as often as I used to because my life with my son (recovering addict) has gotten much better and calmer . I do however still regularly come on here to see if there is any advice I can give or just to catch up and pray for those that seem to really need it . Last night out of the blue I received a text message from one of our friends on here wishing a Happy Easter than someone else answered than another before I knew it I was talking with a group of wonderful supportive people that I had met here in my darkest hours over three years ago . One of these special ladies had made a group chat unbeknownst to me and it was like a family reunion. We were however missing one of our most important family members that has given so much back to this site in the terms of support and wise advice even though her son has been in recovery for so many years ( blue violet ) . I was so nice to catch up with everyone . Although all the news was not always good one members son is sadly in jail for what may be quite some time however she is grateful he is alive and not on the streets. Another members son is also in jail but may be returning to rehab for another chance at attaining sobriety . One members son is doing terrific and is now his self an addiction counselor. My son is going on a year and a half in his sobriety although it took him getting arrested to make this happen but that's ok with me . Finally and perhaps the most encouraging of all is our dear friend that lost her beautiful daughter to this evil disease of addiction just over a year ago was on sharing pictures of her beautiful granddaughter that she is raising as well as her other children. I guess what I'm trying to say is life living with addiction is extremely difficult and at times very near impossible but you have to try and go on for yourself and those around you even though sometimes you may feel like crawling into a hole and never facing the world again . Life is a journey and for most people on here it is a difficult one at best but there can be brighter days ahead . I wish you all a Happy Easter filled with new beginnings and hopes and dreams .
