hi friends, I'm sorry to keep going on about this situation but I am struggling here really bad at the moment.. So we went to see Justin in the Psyche hospital last night and we only had 20 minutes to visit. So the visit felt very rushed.. My husband and I each sat on one side of him and we both had alot to say. I was like when did you get here and when do you get out? My husband was like son you have hurt so many people with this lastest relapse and really laying on the guilt. I was more worried with what are your plans when you get out? I told him he had 3 options.. Jail, the streets with the drugs or long term residential. He said long term is what he wanted. I told him at this point I realize he has no control of even himself and he said I know mom thats why I came to the hospital. He's scared. He said they will probably release him tomorrow! OMG we are so not prepared. The place where I would like him to go is 4 hours away there is a ton of paperwork to be filled out plus I'm not even sure they will take him he was turned down at the last treatment center for being on too many meds. Plus tomoorow we are supposed to be going away to a soccer tournament for our little 11 year old healthy boy. So now my husband is planning on staying home with Justin and I'm scrambling to make all of this happen I am completely overwhelmed and feel like I have to do all this stuff to make it happen and then will he even go???
I know take a deep breath.. try to stay calm ....I'm trying!!

Your right,,,, breath,,,,,, ok,, well he picked a good option,,, relax,,,so one step at a time,,,, get all the paper work together,,,, so he comes back home tomorrow, you going away think is a good think,, things happen for a reason,, focus on 11 year old!!, your husband staying home with Justin is a good thing, perhaps your husband maybe the one that keeps the situation calm,,,
Recharge,,,,, going crazy is not going to change the end results,,,,

I'm praying, I'm hopeful,,, the light is shining!

Marg I think you are doing all the right things Like Kim said Go with your 11 year old your husband can handle this weekend with Justin. You are a great mom and I know how tired you must be at this point but he is trying and choosing good choices as far as getting himself into the hospital and agreeing to go to long term residential. It is far from where he was at just a few short months ago. Recovery is a process( I know you know that) in my case as well it has not gone smoothly but each try is a conformation that they want to change and need help doing it sometimes. Hang in there I believe you will be rewarded for doing so. God Bless Marge please keep me updated on how he is doing. P.S. The great news is that he knows he needs help. he knows he is out of control. If he is home with your husband, your husband can keep him safe and your son can start working on getting himself into a rehab. Empower the situation, don't let it wear you down.
It was horrible what happened...but it was a step forward for him...He knows he needs help..how wonderful is that?
Will the hospital he is in do anything to help him get into rehab? He did make it a while without using last time...Maybe he can make it while he waits with meetings etc....They will always welcome him.
Breathe! Hug him. Hug the 11 year old, and your husband. You will make it. You are strong.

i may be out of line but is there anyway your husband could go to tournament and you stay with justin. he doesn't need more guillt at this point and he has decided to do the long term treatment. he checked himself into the hospital, he knows he needs help. sounds to me like he's hit bottom...i don't think you need to worry. just keep encouraging him and being his loving mom :)

Oh marg my heart is aching for you, cause I hear the aniexty in your words, but you are just a remarkable mom and doing all the right things. I too would never give up, and he does want the help, I know he does. You do that paperwork, and we will pray he will get in to the program. You know apart of me agrees with janitor ( the maternal part) but in hind site sometimes they need the raw truth, plus I think it will be good mentally for you. Whatever you decide we are here with you, giving you a huge hug and prayers for your son. I know he wants to be well. Hugs

Take a minute, regroup, and take a deep breath...one thing at a time. Go to the tournament and enjoy it. You will get everything together for Justin...he will be in an inpatient program soon.

He is taking a step in the right direction.
